THE STUDIO
For the naturally curious.
Mechanica, a collection by Theory & Ink, brings the language of engineering into the spaces we live in.

Where observation
becomes art.
A lever balances. A wheel turns. A wedge divides. Behind each familiar motion lies an idea worth looking at again.
This collection takes its visual cues from Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks: warm paper, sepia ink, measured lines, and the pleasure of understanding how something works. These are original contemporary designs inspired by that spirit, rather than reproductions of historical drawings.
A collection with a common language.
All seven compositions pair an engraving-inspired study with a consistent approach to type, linework, and annotation. Each machine can stand alone; together, they tell a larger story.
Made to be looked at closely.
Every geometric ratio belongs to a specific ideal model. Dimensions have defined endpoints, forces have defined directions, and the assumptions are written down. The science is part of the artwork.
